Learner and Learning
This portfolio shows both a collaborative and a virtual media literacy lesson. The collaborative, in-person lesson for sixth graders focused on analyzing and creating public service announcements (PSAs) using print and digital sources in partnership with an English teacher. It emphasized real-world application, hands-on learning, and inclusive instruction with accommodations for diverse learners, including students with hearing impairments. In contrast, the virtual lesson was delivered through Zoom using breakout rooms, shared Google Docs, online polls, and Canva for digital creation. This shift to an online environment maintained strong student engagement while strengthening research skills, ethical information use, communication, and understanding of audience and purpose, demonstrating my ability to adapt instruction while maintaining inclusivity.
