Knowledge & Application of Content

Technology-Enabled Learning

In SLIB 600, I completed a digital curation project focused on sensory spaces for elementary students. This project explored why this type of information is important and where to find it. The curation sites will be a helpful place for me to go back to when I’m looking for articles and ideas to create my own sensory space.

As a student in the School Librarianship program, I’ve learned a lot about literature, digital and information literacy, and current instructional technologies. I’ve used tools like Padlet and Wakelet to organize resources and share information with students in a clear way. While working on my reading log, I also learned how to find reliable book reviews. I know this will help me when choosing and ordering books for the library and when recommending titles to students.

Reading Engagement

I completed a reading log focused on young adult and children’s literature. The books I chose reflect a diverse, up-to-date collection, with titles from 2019 and newer so I can better recommend them to students. Being familiar with the books in the library will help me encourage students to read both for learning and for enjoyment.
