About Me
Hello, I’m Candice West, a dedicated and student-centered school librarian with a strong commitment to literacy, inquiry, and lifelong learning. I hold a Master’s of Education in School Librarianship, where I developed a solid foundation in instructional collaboration, information literacy, collection development, and library program leadership.
As a school librarian, I strive to create an inclusive and engaging library environment that supports the diverse academic and personal needs of all learners. I believe the school library is a vital hub for reading, research, and critical thinking. Through purposeful instruction, curated resources, and collaboration with teachers, I work to support curriculum goals while encouraging curiosity and independent learning.
My professional practice is guided by a belief in equitable access to information and the importance of fostering a love of reading in every student. I am committed to ensuring that the library collection reflects diverse voices and perspectives, while also supporting digital citizenship and responsible information use.
This portfolio showcases my work as a school librarian, including instructional lessons, literacy initiatives, library programs, and ongoing professional development.
